Even though North Carolina is home to the largest snow tubing park on the East Coast (you can read about it here), it’s of no use in the dog days of summer. But when the temps soar in the Tar Heel State, you can still enjoy at least one tubing hill with a downhill summer tubing adventure that’s fun for the entire family.
Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center is open seven days a week for summer downhill tubing in North Carolina. The hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you get hungry during your visit, Annie’s Cafe is located next to the slope and offers burgers and other American fare. Annie’s is open when the downhill tubing runs are open, except it’s closed on Sundays.
